Postmodernism suggests media shapes our view of reality rather than simply reflecting it.

Ghost Town mixes realism and symbolism. It has no clear narrative and allows different interpretations.

 It references horror, crime and post-apocalyptic films. The empty streets and dark urban scenes create these links.

3) How does Old Town Road use postmodern elements in its music video?

Old Town Road mixes Western and hip-hop genres. It uses parody, intertextuality and humour.

4) How does the Old Town Road music video reflect technological convergence and modern digital culture?  

The video became popular through TikTok. It combines music, social media and internet culture.

5) What do YOU think Lil Nas X was trying to say about reality and American culture in the music video for Old Town Road?

 Lil Nas X challenges stereotypes about American identity. He suggests that American culture is diverse and shaped by media.

It was clear to see which images were contrapuntal and which were parallel. The images were very contrasting and the switch to the different images was clear and precise.
